In Rotation: 10/18/17

As Uncles Nate and Snoop said, it ain’t no fun if the homies can’t have none. Here are the songs you should check out this week. Spread the good word of music. There is a lot of talent out there just waiting to be recognized.

G Herbo – ‘Malcolm’
Honestly, this is already up there with the best tracks ALL YEAR. Herbo has always impressed me as an MC, but Humble Beast brought his game to a whole new level. Maturity is evident. Believe with all my heart that he will continue to only get better. Appreciate this artist.

Rapsody – ‘Jesus Coming (feat. Amber Navran)’
Rapsody truly is a master of emotion. Hard not to feel some painful vibes on this joint. What a way to close the album. I don’t have to tell you that her latest LP Laila’s Wisdom is some real heat. Just check on social media. JAMLA AND ROC NATION STAND UP!

David Sabastian – ‘Ballin’
Thank you Kembe X. The Chicago hip hop artist tweeted this dude’s name a while back so I had to peep his music. Really good sh*t. I can’t stop playing this performance especially. That piano tho.

Teriyaki Boyz – ‘I Still Love H.E.R. (feat. Kanye West)’
Stumbled across this masterpiece recently and it hasn’t left my rotation since. This era Kanye was unstoppable, so cool that he worked with artists from Japan too. Have to say – I’m a little mad at myself for only finding this now.

RXSGLD – ‘JeSos’
One of those joints that deserves way, way, way more views. Hell, that’s the reason why I posted it. Rap this great needs to be shared with the world! With the airwaves! Hope you enjoy it just as much as I do.

Lou the Human – ‘Macklemore’
Time for some bars. Lou the Human is a Staten Island MC who is on the come up. He just dropped his first big project last week and it’s filled with dense rap tracks just like this. Shoutout Danny Brown for tuning me on.

Danny Watts – ‘Pill’
Authors Recording Company in the house! Houston artist ‘Danny Watts’ is riding the waves of a dynamite new album titled Black Boy Meets World. ‘Pill’ is one of my choice cuts from the release. With Jonwayne on the beat, it’s almost guaranteed to be dope. Catch these two on tour!

Aminé – ‘Blinds’
Quick jam from the Portland young phenom. Good For You is filled with gems like this – I recommend that album to any unheard ears. Refreshing hip hop being made by Aminé right now. West Coast!

Lute – ‘Ford’s Prayer (feat. Cam O’bi)’
Let’s end it with some Dreamville. A label that continues to amaze me. One of their latest signees (after already killing it with J.I.D. and EarthGang this year) is a 28-year-old Charlotte artist who goes by the name ‘Lute.’ He just put out his debut album and it’s something special. Shoutout Cam O’bi.
