30 Oct REVIEW: meetVoutside – ‘What Day Is It’
We live from the great city of Boston! Earlier this Fall, meetVoutside dropped a brand new EP titled What Day Is It. The project showcases what a typical week may be like for the Massachusetts MC, and in my opinion, is the strongest body of work thus far from V.
Songs like ‘Sunday Night’ and ‘Monday’ display poignant honesty and give us insight into V’s current thought process as a rising artist. Others like ‘Friday’ and ‘Tuesday’ hyped me up more and contained snappy youthful bravado. The production was aesthetically consistent front-to-back too, and the Boston rapper was as confident behind the mic as I’ve ever heard him.
2020 will be a big year for meetVoutside. I’m calling that now. My biggest takeaway from this EP was the fact that V has started to really find his voice. He appears to know exactly who he is as an artist, and is thus creating genuine music from the soul. When that’s the case, the end result can be something different. Something unique. Something never heard before! Keep your eyes on young V. Boston got something to say. #NewEnglandHipHop
